Angola-China Chamber of Commerce calls for direct relations between business people

22 August 2018

The president of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce (CAC), Arnaldo Calado, in Luanda called for direct relations with Chinese private business associations with a view to the further development of Angola.

Calado told state newspaper Jornal de Angola that it is fundamental for the government to focus on business cooperation between private companies, as most of Chinese business people based in Angola are from state-owned companies.

“The business people should also start thinking about cooperating with private Chinese business associations in China, which can give a boost to the country, as they have given to several African countries,” said the CAC president.

Calado noted that governments negotiate differently to entrepreneurs.

The president of the CAC called for greater cooperation between the 32 provinces and autonomous regions of China and Angola’s 18 provinces.

“The two provincial entities can negotiate forms of payment and, if trust can be established, they can do it on credit, which would serve to galvanize the development of the provinces,” he said.

When the CAC was created in March 2017, Chinese advisor Francisco Chen gave assurances that Chinese business people want to invest in agriculture, industry, real estate and other areas in Angola. (macauhub)
