Single Electronic Window starts operating in Angola in 2019

20 September 2018

The Single Electronic Window (SEW), an instrument to reduce bureaucracy and speed up trade formalities related to the import and export of goods, begins operating in Angola in 2019, an official source said Wednesday in Luanda.

The coordinator of the Technical Group of the Trade Facilitation Committee, Lukonde Luansi, who spoke at a seminar promoted by the Ministry of Trade, said that the new system will be introduced under the Programme to Support Production, Diversification of Exports and Import Substitution (Prodesi).

He also said that the electronic system will bring benefits to economic agents, as well as reducing the bureaucratic costs associated with import and export procedures.

“The entry into operation of the Single Electronic Window allows documentation to be presented in one go, without going through several entities, as it dies today, on paper,” said Luansi, giving assurances that conditions are being created for the system to work as soon as possible within the country’s productive and economic sector. (macauhub)
