The National Summary Data Page (NSDP) or Angola’s “economic data centre” will be available from the end of November 2018, the Ministry of Finance said.
In a statement, the Angolan ministry said that the NSDP will be placed on the country’s Open Data Platform, provided by the African Development Bank under the “African Information Highway” project.
Publication of key macroeconomic data through the NSDP will facilitate access to political actors, domestic and international stakeholders, including investors and rating agencies, to the information that the Executive Board of the IMF has identified as crucial for monitoring the economic and financial situation of the country.
“Making this information more accessible, in formats that can be read by both people and computers and using a planned publication schedule, will allow all users to have simultaneous access to timely data, bringing more transparency to information and reducing costs in Angola in communicating data to other bodies,” the statement said.
The NSDP will give users access to comprehensive macroeconomic data on Angola and, in addition to being available on the Ministry of Finance website, at http://www.minfin.gov.ao, it will also be on the IMF’s Dissemination Standard Bulletin Board (DSBB), at https://dsbb.imf.org.
A technical assistance mission of the International Monetary Fund, in collaboration with the African Development Bank, was in Luanda from 19 to 25 September 2018 to support the Angolan authorities in adopting the Enhanced General Data Dissemination System (e-GDDS). (macauhub)
