Macau received 25.8 million visitors in the period from January to September, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year, according to the Statistics and Census Bureau.
The number of visitors from Mainland China (18.2 million) and Taiwan (803,900) increased by 13.3% and 0.2% respectively year-on-year, with those from Hong Kong (4.5 million) falling 2.4%.
Visitors from China were mainly from Guangdong province (7.6 million), followed by Hunan and Fujian provinces.
The average length of stay of the visitors was 1.3 days, 0.1 days more than in the same period of the previous year, the Bureau said.
In September, visitors to Macau reached 2.5 million, an increase of 3.0% year-on-year and a decrease of 24.7% in monthly terms. (macauhub)
