Portuguese-speaking countries hold talks on tourism in Macau

More than thirty people on Friday concluded their participation in a colloquium on tourism management, conventions and exhibitions for Portuguese-speaking countries, according to Forum Macau.

Organised by the Forum Training Centre in collaboration with the University of the City of Macau, the 32 officials and managers of tourist institutions from these countries participated from 15 to 26 October in the fourth colloquium held by the centre this year.

The colloquium involved a number of activities, which included thematic lectures to present cooperation in the area of tourism, conventions and exhibitions covering China, Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries and the state of play of the construction of the Macau Tourism and Leisure Centre.

The colloquium also included visits to the Permanent Office of Forum Macau, the Macau Government Tourist Office, the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, tourism facilities and the World Heritage sites of Macau.

Participants also attended the 10th Cultural Week of China and the Portuguese-Speaking Countries, the 23rd edition of the Macau International Fair, and the Exhibition of Products and Services of Portuguese-Speaking Countries 2018 (Macau).

The secretary-General of the Permanent Office of the Forum, Xu Yingzhen, said at a ceremony to ahnd over certificates the colloquium had given participants the opportunity to learn about the development of tourism and conventions and exhibitions in Mainland China and Macao in order to promote mutual learning and exchange in the tourism and conventions and exhibitions sector between China, Macau and the Portuguese-speaking countries.
