Brazilian aeronautical company Embraer on Thursday began a tour of China presenting its new E190-E2 “Shark” aircraft, the company said in a statement.
In addition to touring several airports in the country, the new aircraft will be at the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China), from 6 to 11 November in the city of Zhuhai, the special economic region adjacent to Macau.
Embraer said the E190-E2 “Shark” is the quietest, cleanest and most efficient single-aisle aeroplane in its segment.
With a shark painting on its fuselage, the E190-E2’s tour through China follows successful presentations in the United States, Africa, Europe, and more recently in the Asia Pacific region where it demonstrated excellent long-range capability on almost six-hour flights.
“China is the second largest market for E-Jets. We have delivered 153 commercial aircraft in the region, which means that E2 Jets have a huge base to develop,” said John Slattery, president of Embraer Aviação Comercial.
Slattery also said that the new aircraft achieved a new level of performance compared to the first generation of E-Jets and added “we look forward to introducing this aircraft to our Chinese operators.”
Guo Qing, director of Sales and Marketing for China’s Embraer Commercial Aviation, said the first E190-E2 to be delivered in China will be handed over at the end of the year to Fuzhou Airlines. (macauhub)
