Macau government takes part in the first China International Import Expo

The public services of the Macau government will participate in the first China International Import Expo, due to be held in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November, according to an official statement.

The statement added that the aim of taking part is aims to showcase Macau’s current development as “a centre and platform,” as well as to enable it to perform well in the “Belt and Road” national initiative, in the continuation of a new era and in an important window of China’s connection to the outside world.

The event is organised by the Ministry of Business and the Shanghai People’s Government, supported by the World Trade Organization, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and includes two parts, the International Forum of Economy and Trade of Hongqiao and the National Trade and Investment Fair and Business and Trade Fair.

The Macau Government Pavilion will be included in the China Pavilion at the National Trade and Investment Fair, in an exhibition entitled “Macao Hub” aiming, through subtitled photographs and videos, to demonstrate the development of Macau since the 16th century. as it changed from a simple fishing village to an important international trade centre, with the mixture of Eastern and Western cultures.

In addition, the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, the Macau Government Tourist Office and the Cultural Industries Fund have organised the participation of various sectors of society, including catering companies in the food and agricultural exhibition area, showcasing food and drink typical of Macau and the Portuguese-speaking countries.

Other local companies, which provide professional services in the Portuguese-speaking market, are also part of the Service Trade Exhibition Zone, with a view to boosting Macau’s role as a platform. (macauhub)
