The population of Macau at the end of September totalled 663 400 people, a real increase of 4,500 people compared with the previous quarter, according to the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau.
The female population (352,300 people) accounted for 53.1% of the total population, the Bureau said.
At the end of the third quarter there were 186,332 non-resident workers, 4,833 more than at the end of the first half, as well as 738 Chinese immigrants and 263 individuals authorised to reside in Macau, minus 36 and 52, respectively, against the previous quarter.
With a land area of 30.5 square kilometres, at the end of September Macau had a population density of 21,750 people per square kilometre. (macauhub)
