The Chinese province of Hunan plans to increase cooperation with the Angolan province of Bengo in a number of sectors, Hunan deputy governor He Boaxiang said on Thursday in Caxito.
The head of the Chinese delegation said that the provincial authorities chose Bengo for cooperation because it is close to the country’s capital (Luanda), and it is a coastal province with many maritime resources and strong bases in agriculture.
He Boaxiang, quoted by Angolan news agency Angop, also said that sectors selected for bilateral cooperation include agriculture, food processing, infrastructure construction, culture and tourism.
The provincial governor of Bengo, Mara Quiosa, said she wanted to secure mutually advantageous partnerships for both provinces, noting that Bengo has conditions to promote foreign investments.
“We have every interest in cooperating in these common areas and we hope that with these large investments in these areas we will achieve medium-term objectives in terms of the development of our province,” Quiosa said. (macauhub)
