Exports from China to São Tomé and Príncipe totalled US$8.9 million in 2018, a source at the National Statistics Institute (INE) told Macauhub in São Tomé.
The provisional figures provided by INE showed that China sold to São Tomé and Príncipe about 4,231 tons of sundry products with a record value in dobras (São Tomean currency) equivalent to about US$8.9 million between January and December. 2018.
São Tomé and Príncipe imported products such as footwear (about US$2.3 million), vehicles and mopeds (US$2 million), rubber (US$1.9 million), machinery and electronic equipment (US$1 million), among others .
In April 2017 in Beijing, São Tomé and Príncipe and China signed a framework cooperation agreement valued at about US$146 million shortly after the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. (macauhub)
