Macau raises more than US$13 billion in direct taxes on gambling in 2018

Macau raised 106.781 billion patacas (US$13.3 billion) in direct taxes on gambling in 2018, according to data provided by the Financial Services Bureau (DSF).


In 2017, direct gambling taxes – 35% on casinos’ gross revenues – totalled 93.961 billion patacas (US $ 11.7 billion).


According to the DSF, direct taxes on gambling collected in 2018 accounted for 79.6% of total public revenues in Macau.


In total, revenues amounted to 134.204 billion patacas, 13.7% more than in 2017. (macauhub)
