The ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Portugal, Cai Run said that Macau has an increasingly important role as a bridge in relations between China and Portugal and for relations between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.
In an interview published on Friday in the Hoje Macau newspaper, the diplomat also said that the Chinese government continues to support Macau as a platform for cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries and World Tourism and Leisure Centre encouraging the special administrative region to be actively engaged in the “Belt and Road,” the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay and the Pan Pearl River Delta regional cooperation.
“I am convinced that with the strong support of the Central Government, under the joint efforts of the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region and its inhabitants, Macau will have even more room for development, a more promising future and will further contribute to boosting Sino-Portuguese cooperation,” said Cai Run.
In the interview the Chinese ambassador also addressed Sino-Portuguese relations, bilateral cooperation and the future of China’s role in the world.(macauhub)
