Macau chief executive travels to Beijing with Greater Bay on the agenda

Macau’s Chief Executive, Chui Sai On, will travel to Beijing on Thursday to attend the plenary meeting of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Development Leadership Group.


The announcement was made through a statement from the government spokesman noting that Chui Sai On will also be present at the opening of the Second Session of the 13th National People’s Congress, on 5 March.


In Beijing, Chui Sai On will also visit the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Academy of Social Sciences and meet with leaders of Guangdong Province with the aim of “exchanging ideas on the implementation of the Greater Bay,” as well as discussing, “cooperation initiatives between Guangdong and Macau.”


The Chief Executive is accompanied by the chief of staff of the Chief Executive, O Lam, the Director of the Macau Government Information Bureau, Victor Chan, the Director of the Regional Policy and Development Studies Services Department, Mi Jian, the coordinator of the Protocol, Public Affairs and Foreign Affairs Office, Lei Iut Mui, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund for the Development of Science and Technology, Ma Chi Ngai.


During Chui Sai On’s absence, the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Lionel Leong and the Secretary for Administration and Justice, Sonia Chan, take on the interim role of Chief Executive. (macauhub)
