Macau’s Chief Executive said in Beijing that cooperation with Guangdong will reach a new level with the aim of making the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay (GBA) an internationally renowned area.
Chui Sai On met in Beijing with the Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Li Xi, to discuss issues related to bilateral cooperation within the scope of the GBA.
The Chief Executive said that the GBA plan has brought a new dynamic to cooperation with Guangdong and gave assurances that the two governments will implement pilot projects to reach new levels in bilateral development.
Chui Sai On, quoted in an official statement, said that “the Macau government is committed to preparing, organising and accelerating networking.”
The statement also said that the Macau government will make every effort “to promote proper diversification of the economy, to participate in the technological innovation of the GBA, to boost the interconnection of infrastructure and to provide facilities for residents to work and live in the area.”
Li Xi said he hoped that Guangdong and Macau could discuss the scheduling of bilateral activities at upcoming work meetings and take advantage of this opportunity of creation of the GBA to promote the development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau. (Macauhub)
