Macau casinos had more than 24,000 croupiers at the end of 2018

Macau’s lottery and other gaming sector at the end of 2018 had more than 57,000 workers, of whom 24,719 were croupiers, according to the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau.

Average pay (excluding profit-sharing and bonuses) of full-time workers in that sector was 23.740 patacas (US$2,967), with annual growth of 3.5%.

Meanwhile, the average pay of the croupiers stood at 20,450 patacas (US$2,556), with annual growth of 3.0%.

By the end of 2018, there were 1,321 vacancies in the gaming sector, or 861 more than in 2017, with 445 of these vacancies being for croupiers. (Macauhub)
