The director of the Central People’s Government Liaison Office in Macau said on Tuesday that the opportunities created by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Plan (GBA) are unprecedented.

Fu Ziying suggested that Macau should make use of these historic opportunities and continuously enhance its development and take full advantage of its specific advantages.

Fu Ziying, speaking at the “Exchange Meeting on the General Planning Guidelines for Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay and the Future of Macau,” proposed that Macau should continue to explore and integrate existing resources, increase its competitiveness and deepen regional cooperation.

Macau Chief Executive Chui Sai On said, “Macau must make use of its advantages in order to truly take the leading role so that it can participate effectively in the construction of the GBA.”

Chui also said that the development of the Macau Special Administrative Region should be included in national development and boost Macau’s status as one of the major cities of the GBA to make its role as “A Centre and a Platform” a reality. (Macauhub)
