The creation of Angola’s national reinsurance company, Empresa Nacional de Resseguros de Angola “AngoRe” is in its final phase and is expected to be presented to potential shareholders within three months, the president of the sector regulator said on Monday in Luanda.
Aguinaldo Jaime, president of the Angolan Agency for Regulation and Supervision of Insurance (Arseg), said there had been a mismatch between the time the technical and economic feasibility study of AngoRe was approved and now, with the change of some macro-economic indicators.
“The current situation in Angola is very different from the one that existed two, three, or four years ago, and it was necessary to update the study that was carried out,” he said, adding that the work was almost complete.
AngoRe will be a partnership between the Angolan State and domestic and foreign private investors. (Macauhub)
