Macau ended the first quarter of 2019 with a population of 670,900 people, an increase of 3,500 in quarterly terms, according to the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau.
The figures show that the female population at the end of the period under analysis was made up of 356,800 people, or 53.2% of the total population.
At the end of the first quarter, there were 189,515 non-resident workers in Macau, up by 1,035 from the end of the previous quarter, with the number of people authorised to reside in Macau in the period, falling by 57 to 166.
Given that the land area of Macau is 30.8 square kilometres, the population density of the territory totals 21,782 people per square kilometre. (Macauhub)
