Coffee, salt, honey, tropical fruits, marble and granite are the products chosen by the Angolan Agency for Private Investments and Export Promotion (Aipex) for a pilot export programme, said the president of the institution.
Licínio Vaz Contreiras pointed out, however, that some of the selected products still need international certification to be exported such as honey and fruits that require phytosanitary certificates.
Contreiras also said that the agency’s departments are working with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and its laboratory to overcome these difficulties.
In addition to the ministry, Aipex is also working with other sectors that interfere with the export of Angolan products, as the obstacles that have to be removed have already been identified.
The president of Aipex said that there are already two Angolan producers exporting fruits to Europe and other parts of the world, but the aim is to get more producers to do the same. (Macauhub)
