Companies from South Africa and Portugal are taking part in the 9th edition of the Benguela International Fair (FIB), which runs from Wednesday to Saturday in the capital of the province of Angola of the same name, the event’s organisers said.
Joseth Mirandela, event organiser at Eventos Arena Angola, told the Angop news agency that in addition to foreign companies, Angolans from various sectors of activity are also attending.
She also said that Benguela, Luanda and Cabinda provinces lead the way, and the sectors with the highest participation in this year’s edition are banking, insurance, telecommunications, agro-industry, construction and fisheries.
During the event, a series of conferences will be held, one of which will be on the process of introducing Value Added Tax (IVA) in Angola, by the General Tax Administration.
