Macau’s participation in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is included in an attachment that has been added to the first Five-Year Development Plan of the Macau Special Administrative Region (2016-2020), the government said.
The attachment, which represents further action to link local government action with the country’s national development, follows the official launch of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.”
The new attachment follows the fundamental principles set out in the Five-Year Development Plan (2016-2020), in line with the eight major strategies outlined in this document and the lines of government action in Macau.
The text of the attachment consists of an introduction and four parts, namely “improvement of the coordination mechanism”, “improvement of the quality of life of the population”, “joint promotion of economic development” and “coordinated promotion of good social governance.”
It also contains 14 tables that identify the main tasks to be carried out in the different areas in which Macau’s participation in the construction of the Greater Bay Area takes place.
The official statement recalls that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is a national strategy designed, developed and personally promoted by President Xi Jinping, which demonstrates all the value and attention the central government attaches to cooperation between the three regions.”
