The government of Cabo Verde intends to introduce new areas in cooperation with China, namely the economy of the sea, technologies and, among other things, tourism, “despite being already very relevant, fruitful and several decades long,” wrote the deputy prime minister and finance minister on Facebook.

“Cabo Verde wants, above all, to have cooperation anchored in business and business promotion, to build a more sustainable, cooperative framework in the long term, creating value and rooted in what is the Government’s vision of promoting the future of our islands,” wrote Olavo Correia.

On a visit to China, Correia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities and Defense Minister Luís Filipe Tavares are representing Cabo Verde at the first China- Africa Economic and Trade Expo, which will take place from 27 to 29 June in Chansha, the capital of Hunan Province.

The event has already confirmed the participation of 3,500 exhibitors from 53 countries, and over the three days, more than 200 projects for cooperation in investment, trade, engineering, acquisition and construction of projects are expected to be negotiated.

The total value of these projects exceeds US$70 billion and concerns 39 countries such as Ghana, Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire, according to the organising committee. (Macauhub)
