Angola’s main trade fair expected to be attended by 21 countries

3 July 2019

Twenty-one countries, including Belarus for the first time, will be represented at the 35th edition of the Luanda International Fair (Filda/2019), with the participation of business, industry and agriculture entrepreneurs seeking business opportunities in Angola, the national director for Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation of the Ministry of Economy and Planning said on Tuesday.

Marcelino Pinto, quoted by the Angop news agency, also said that Germany will be represented at Filda by a government and business delegation and that Portugal will be represented by the Minister of Economy and the Secretary of State for Cooperation, as well as the business sector.

This year’s edition of the Luanda International Fair, held from 9 to 13 July under the motto “Stimulating the private sector and promoting economic growth”, should once again have Portugal as the main foreign exhibitor, similarly to 2018, when the fair was attended by 25 Portuguese companies from various sectors.

The official said that “the conditions for the beginning of the fair are being created and all within the deadline” and added that about three-quarters of the stands are already built in the fair’s grounds, in the exclusive economic zone of Luanda-Bengo, on the outskirts of the capital.

Multisector exhibitions, especially for banking, telecommunications, oil, transport and logistics, industry and tourism, are some of the initiatives to be carried out this year. (Macauhub)
