Macau businesspeople attend the China-Portuguese speaking countries business meeting

A business delegation from Macau, made up of more than 30 people, will be in São Tomé and Príncipe until 13 July, where it will take part in the 14th Meeting of Entrepreneurs for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese Speaking Countries – São Tomé – 2019, according to an official.

The Macau delegation, led by the president of the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), Irene Va Kuan Lau, is made up of representatives from the financial, manufacturing, services, retail, and construction sectors.

The meeting, which starts on Monday and ends on Tuesday, will be attended by delegations from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, from government entities from the interior of China, the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries and the China-Portuguese Development Cooperation Fund, among others.

The meeting, held since 2005 in Portuguese-speaking countries on a rotating basis, is a project for negotiation and cooperation between companies, as part of the Protocol of Cooperation between Trade Promotion Bodies/Chambers of Commerce, signed in October 2003, during the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau), by trade promotion organisations from Mainland China, Portuguese-speaking countries and Macau.
