The issue of mobility within the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) will be discussed at the next meeting of foreign ministers, scheduled for 19 July, the Cape Verdean Foreign Minister said on Saturday.
“We are going to present the political project [of mobility] and we hope it will be approved on the 19th,” said Minister Luís Filipe Tavares, of Cabo Verde, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the CPLP.
The minister, when asked about the possible obstacles to be raised by some CPLP member countries, said that Cabo Verde has drawn up a very flexible project, “which allows states to carefully analyse what they want, and may even establish bilateral agreements or involve more countries.”
While saying that conditions are in place for the matter to be resolved on 19 July, Tavares has, however, set the end of Cabo Verde’s presidential term as the final date for approval of an agreement, according to the Inforpress news agency. (Macauhub)
