KPMG Angola has been contracted to produce a study on the Angolan market for information and communication technologies, based on the White Paper on Electronic Communications, indicates a statement from the Finance Ministry.
The statement provides a calendar of actions involving the tender for a fourth communications operator and specifies that KPMG Angola will provide expert consultancy services for the consideration and review of all support components of the tender, besides helping review potential candidates, evaluate proposals and prepare the concession process.
KPMG will likewise support actions meant to publicise the tender internationally, with a view to attracting the interest of major global telecom operators.
The statement adds that an Evaluation Committee has been formally set up and that the opening of the tender will be announced in due time.
“The tender procedure will be carried out in the platform of the National Electronic Public Contracting System, to best ensure the tender’s transparency, efficiency and effectiveness,” the text reads.
Presidential Order 61/19 of 30 April determined the opening of a new tender to award a fourth overall unified title for the provision of public electronic communications service, in the mode of a limited tender based on prior qualification.
The entire process will be coordinated by an inter-ministerial working group comprising representatives from the ministries of Finance, Telecommunications and Information Technologies, and Economy and Planning, the statement explains. (Macauhub)
