Administrative regulations for the implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme for the international trade of rough diamonds will come into force in Macau on 1 October, the government said in a statement issued on Thursday.
The administrative regulation stipulates that the operator license to import, export, transit, purchase, sale or transport rough diamonds in Macau is valid for two years and must be requested from the Macau Economic Bureau (DSE).
It also stipulates that in order to import, export or transit rough diamonds, operators must apply to the DSE for their license and certificate from the Kimberley Process Certification System.
The period of validity of the certificate may not exceed 60 days and the export, import and transit licenses shall be valid for 30 days. (Macauhub)
