Macau casinos’ gross revenues increased again in September, although with a marginal variation of 0.6% to 22.079 billion patacas (US$2.760 billion), the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau said.
The rise in September follows two consecutive months of decline, with the percentage change falling by 3.5% in July and accelerating to -8.6% in August.
The fact that the shortfalls were generally higher than the increases led to an accumulated gross revenue of 220.297 billion patacas (US$27.537 billion) from January to September, which was 1.7% lower than in the same period of 2018.
The six Macau gaming concessionaires had 41 casinos at the end of the first half of 2019, of which 22 were run by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, five by Venetian Macau, four by Melco Crown (Macau), two by Wynn Resorts (Macau) and two by MGM Grand Paradise, with 6,734 gaming tables and 17,638 slot machines.
