China’s state-owned enterprises are a key force in economic and trade cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries and in the construction of the multilateral Cooperation Platform, the director-general of the Central Government Liaison Office said on Wednesday in Macau.
Fu Ziying also said that these companies should make the most of their own potential to invest more resources and should cooperate with Macau companies to strengthen cooperation for business exploration.
He said Portuguese-speaking countries should create a better business environment as well as better conditions to deepen international economic and trade cooperation by taking part in the Summit on the Construction of the Macau Trade Cooperation Services Platform between China and the Portuguese-Speaking Countries, supported by China’s Central Public Enterprises 2019.
The director-general of the Central Government Liaison Office also said that the platform allows Macau’s unique advantages to be developed as a key link to deepen international economic and trade cooperation, and is also important in the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative between China, Macau and the Portuguese-speaking countries.
“The platform is also a relevant starting point for Macau to integrate into national development and promote the diversification of its economy,” said Fu Ziying.
The Macau Chief Executive, Chui Sai On, said in his speech that, over the past decade, the MSAR Government had focused on articulating the construction of the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Trade Cooperation Platform with the most important national strategies.
He also noted that by promoting the construction of the Belt and Road and the launch of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Development Planning Guidelines and the positioning of Macau as a Platform for Cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries. (Macauhub)
