The Angolan Ministry of Tourism counted 1.4 million domestic and foreign tourists across the country in the first half of 2019, the Secretary of State for Tourism, José Alves Primo announced recently.
Speaking at the opening of the Huíla Tourism Exchange, the Secretary of State said that number exceeded expectations, having registered continuous and sustainable growth, with the forecast of reaching 2 million tourists by the end of the year.
The Secretary of State also said that Angola’s position (134th) out of a total of 140 countries should not be discouraged but should be an opportunity to create conditions to attract investment and more tourists.
The Huíla Association of Tourism Promoters and Operators (Hotour) has selected six tourist itineraries for “Invest Huíla” with a focus on the ‘Fundadores’, ‘Cascata’ and ‘Serra da Leba’ routes.
The itineraries include Ludovice, the Bimbe Gorge and the Missions, which have 32 tourist sites in total, including historic, natural and architectural sights. (Macauhub)
