The median monthly income of Macau’s employed population in the third quarter of 2019 stood at 17,000 patacas (US$2,125), an increase of 700 patacas against the previous quarter, according to the Statistics and Census Bureau.
The bureau also reported that the median monthly income of the population employed in the lotteries, other gambling and gaming promotion activities, as well as in construction, was 20,000 patacas and 16,000 patacas, respectively.
The median monthly income of employed residents stood at 20,000 patacas, the same as last quarter.
The unemployment rate from July to September was 1.8%, remaining at the same level as from June to August, with the resident rate increasing by 0.1 percentage points to 2.5%.
Macau’s active population totalled 394,400 people at the end of the third quarter and the employed population stood at 387,100. The unemployed population was 7,300, an increase of 200 people over the previous period. (Macauhub)
