Macau had more than 239,000 vehicles registered at the end of September 2019, a marginal increase of 0.2% over the same period of 2018, according to the Statistics and Census Bureau.
The data released showed that the number of cars (108,500) and motorcycles (99,000) rose 0.9% and 2.2%, respectively, while the number of mopeds (24,200) decreased by 8.8% compared to the figures recorded a year earlier.
Car traffic at the Macau border crossings exceeded 3.9 million from January to September, up 14.5% year-on-year.
The Statistics and Census Bureau also reported that the movement of cars on the Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macau Bridge, which was open to road traffic on 23 October 2018, was 40,700 last September.
Macau had 448.9 kilometres of highways at the end of 2018. (Macauhub)
