The active participation of Macau businesspeople in the 2nd International China Imports Exhibition is evident from the positive results, said Secretary for Economy and Finance Leong Vai Tac during a meeting with local journalists.
The secretary, who on Wednesday visited the Macau Pavilion inside the China Pavilion, as part of the National Trade and Investment Fair, added that the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR), through this event, intends to demonstrate the city’s current stage of development and promote foreign investment.
He said that participation in exhibitions in China in recent years had allowed Macau companies to create the necessary conditions to establish interpersonal relationships and to install points of sale in various locations in the country.
Leong Vai Tac said that in addition to the product business, it would also be very important for some banks to participate because of the opportunities offered, including providing adequate financial services to buyers and sellers and thus gradually creating a business circuit.
He added that this year the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) had set up a larger exhibition area for Macau companies and established more than 600 contacts, noting that this year’s enthusiasm for participation was a result of the success achieved last year. (Macauhub)
