Macau had 29 banks at the end of the third quarter of 2019, more than at the end of the first quarter, according to the Statistics and Census Bureau, which added that its staff totalled 6,718 workers.
The average salary of full-time workers in September 2019, excluding profit sharing and premiums, was 29,540 patacas (US$3,692), up 5.7% year-on-year, while the salary for branch workers was 18,090 patacas, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%.
At the end of the third quarter there were 314 vacancies in the banking sector, 53% of which requiring work experience, 94.3% requiring higher education, 97.1% requiring mastery of Mandarin fluency and 97.5% fluency in English.
During the third quarter of the year 8,732 participants attended vocational training courses provided by their employer, namely courses organised by banks, held in conjunction with other institutions, or subsidised by banks. (Macauhub)
