The Angolan Ministry of Finance is due in December to start publishing a report on the state’s debts to economic agents, the State Secretary for Finance and Treasury Osvaldo João said recently in Luanda.
The Secretary of State, who was speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with members of the National Assembly’s Committee on Economy and Finance on 22 November, also said that the publication of the report was the result of a demand from the International Monetary Fund as part of the Extended Credit Facility with Angola.
“The report is currently being finalised for publication on the due date,” said Osvaldo João.
João also said that the Ministry of Finance already publishes on its website (https://www.minfin.gov.ao/PortalMinfin/#!/), on a quarterly basis, a report on the execution of the General State Budget, including the General State Account, after it is discussed and approved by the National Assembly.
The Secretary of State gave assurances that the Ministry of Finance will seek to increase the information disclosed, particularly regarding the execution of the State Budget. (Macauhub)
