The President of China, Xi Jinping, will visit Macau from 18 to 20 December to take part in the ceremonies to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR), according to Chinese state news agency Xinhua.
Xi, who is also the secretary-general of the Communist Party of China and president of the Central Military Commission, will also lead the inauguration ceremony of the fifth MSAR government, headed by Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng.
The news reported by Xinhua added that Xi Jinping, “will carry out an inspection of the Macau Special Administrative Region.”
The previous visit by Xi Jinping to Macau took place in December 2014 on the 15th anniversary of the founding of the MSAR and the inauguration of the second and last government of Chief Executive Chui Sai On. (macauhub)
