Portuguese construction group Mota-Engil awarded 115 million-euro contract in Angola

Mota-Engil Engenharia e Construção África has been awarded a tender in Angola with a proposal for €115 million for a period of 30 months for three projects, the Mota-Engil Group said in a statement issued by the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM).

The three projects are the completion of the northern pumping system, the construction of the Calueque irrigated perimeter, in Cunene province, in the south of Angola, and the construction of a hybrid power plant.

The statement added that full funding of this project will be provided by an export credit institution.

The Mota-Engil Group said in the statement that its subsidiary Mota-Engil Latin America had secured a contract worth €195 million and an implementation period of 36 months in Honduras for construction of a new hydroelectric plant called El Tornillito with an installed capacity of 194 MW. (macauhub)
