Angola’s Huambo Province is a good place to invest due to its geo-strategic position and its agro-livestock and tourism potential the chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of the city of Taizhou, in China’s Zhejiang province said on Tuesday in Huambo.
Lu Xiao Sheng, speaking at the end of a meeting with the governor of Huambo province, Joana Lina, with whom he discussed issues of common interest, mentioned the project of Jiangzhou Agriculture , Lda. a subsidiary of Jiangsu Nantong Agricultural Science & Technology Development Co., as unequivocal proof that the region is very attractive to investment, particularly in the areas of agriculture and industry.
With an investment of US$12 million, in an area of 2,544 hectares, this project, which has created 180 jobs, involves cultivation of vegetables, fruit trees and grains, in addition to rearing beef cattle, according to Angolan news agency Angop.
Lu said that Huambo province has many features, similarly to Taizhou, along with the availability of governor Joana Lina in the promotion of foreign private investment, with the aim of increasing the size of the province’s industrial sector.
He added the two sides intended to sign a protocol of cooperation to carry out joint actions, including a visit, between May and June 2020, by a group of businesspeople from Huambo to Taizhou and vice-versa, so that the two regions can bring their development plans in line with each other.
Taizhou is a modern city with an estimated population of 5 million, divided into 13 municipalities, and has vast experience in the areas of health, education and culture.
Huambo province, located in the central highlands of Angola, with an area of 35,771 square kilometres, has a population of 2.51 million, spread across 11 municipalities, which have agro-livestock as their main source of income. (macauhub)
