The former secretary of the Government of Macau for Social Affairs and Culture, Alexis Tam Chon Weng, has been nominated to the post of head of the Economic and Trade Delegation of Macau at the World Trade Organization (WTO), under an order of the Chief Executive.
Decree 46/2020, dated 18 February and published in the 2nd Series of the Official Bulletin of the Macau SAR on 26 February, said that the appointment to the World Trade Organization will be in addition to the positions of head of economic and trade delegations of Macau in Lisbon and to the European Union.
The appointment as head of the Economic and Trade Delegation of Macau at the WTO is for the period from 1 May 2020 to 19 December 2020, according to the order by Ho Iat Seng.
Alexis Tam Chon Weng took on the leadership of the Economic and Trade Delegation of Macau in Lisbon on 20 December 2019, one day after having ceased functions as the Macau Government Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture.
The head of the Economic and Trade Delegation of Macau in Lisbon has traditionally been associated to the delegations in Brussels and Geneva. (macauhub)
