Mozambique and Portugal signed an agreement in Maputo on Thursday to allow social security payments in one country to be recognised in the other for career purposes, which will allow the application of the bilateral agreement signed between the two countries in 2010, a document signed by the Secretary of State for Social Security, Cláudia Joaquim, and the Labour and Social Security Minister of Mozambique, Vitória Dias Diogo.

Starting on Thursday 5 July, the city of Maputo will host the 3rd Portugal-Mozambique Summit, which will analyse the economic, trade and political-diplomatic relations between the two countries of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), with the Portuguese delegation headed up by the prime minister, according to the Mozambican press.

Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB) has hired Mozambique's Banco Comercial de Investimentos and Portuguese bank Banco de Investimento Global (BIG) to lead the banking syndicate that will organise, register, obtain authorisation, advertise, launch and execute the sale of 7.5 % of the company's shares on the Mozambican Stock Exchange (BVM).

The construction of a financial cooperation bridge between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries with the aim of stimulating Macau's role as a financial services platform was the basis for a visit by a high-level delegation to Portugal organised by the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) and the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, including representatives from the interior of China and Macau, according to official information.

Banco Nacional Ultramarino (Macau) has signed a cooperation agreement with its parent company, Portuguese state bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), through the network of the two banks to collect and share market information about China and the Portuguese-speaking countries, the bank said in a statement.

The China-Portugal Global Investment Company, a subsidiary of the China Construction group, signed a promissory agreement with Teixeira Duarte - Engenharia e Construções, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Teixeira Duarte construction group, for the purchase of the 7.5% stake the group holds in Portuguese bridge manager Lusoponte.

A business delegation from Macau, led by the Economy and Finance Secretary, Leong Vai Tac, will travel to Portugal to take part in the "Entrepreneurs Meeting for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries - Lisbon - 2018," followed by a visit to Brazil to prospect and study business opportunities, according to the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).

The Legis-PALOP legal database, an electronic platform that brings together legislation, jurisprudence and tenets from Angola, Cabo Verde (Cape Verde), Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe, will now include the legal system of Timor-Leste (East Timor), to be called Legis-PALOP+TL, according to an official statement.

A Boeing 747 Cargo aircraft, with the insignia of Beijing Capital Airlines and TAP-Air Portugal, is due this year to launch an operation linking China, Portugal and Brazil, "a kind of fast track between the Far East and Brazil," the chief executive of the Portuguese airline told online publication Dinheiro Vivo in Matosinhos.
