Angola hosts the 13th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), to be held in 2020, following a decision made at this year's meeting on the island of Sal, Cabo Verde (Cape Verde), which elected Portuguese ambassador Francisco Ribeiro Teles as the institution's new executive secretary, according to the local press.

The Portuguese-speaking African countries and Timor-Leste (PALOP-TL) will have access to 26 million euros provided by the European Union (EU) to support two projects to promote employment in the cultural sector and reforms in the management of public finances, which was signed on Wednesday on the island of Sal in Cabo Verde (Cape Verde), the EU delegation in the archipelago said.

The Legis-PALOP legal database, an electronic platform that brings together legislation, jurisprudence and tenets from Angola, Cabo Verde (Cape Verde), Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe, will now include the legal system of Timor-Leste (East Timor), to be called Legis-PALOP+TL, according to an official statement.

The first Economic Conference of the Market of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) begins on Wednesday in Maputo, Mozambique, with the participation of about 350 people, including entrepreneurs, representatives of business associations, public foreign trade bodies, heads of state and members of the government of the CPLP countries, according to the organising body.
