Collective companies and limited partnerships will cease to exist in Timor-Leste (East Timor) as of 14 September 2018 and will be required to decide whether to be transformed into a limited liability company or a joint stock company under Law No. 10/2017 of 17 May, which approved the new Companies Law.

The construction of a financial cooperation bridge between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries with the aim of stimulating Macau's role as a financial services platform was the basis for a visit by a high-level delegation to Portugal organised by the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) and the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, including representatives from the interior of China and Macau, according to official information.

Banco Nacional Ultramarino (Macau) has signed a cooperation agreement with its parent company, Portuguese state bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), through the network of the two banks to collect and share market information about China and the Portuguese-speaking countries, the bank said in a statement.

The Legis-PALOP legal database, an electronic platform that brings together legislation, jurisprudence and tenets from Angola, Cabo Verde (Cape Verde), Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe, will now include the legal system of Timor-Leste (East Timor), to be called Legis-PALOP+TL, according to an official statement.

The first Economic Conference of the Market of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) begins on Wednesday in Maputo, Mozambique, with the participation of about 350 people, including entrepreneurs, representatives of business associations, public foreign trade bodies, heads of state and members of the government of the CPLP countries, according to the organising body.
